Each design is made from real leaves and twigs, which are collected from the mid-western regions of Brazil, where the savannah landscape meets the tropical and lush rainforest. The leaves and branches make up the core of the jewellery which are then plated with 18 carat gold, white gold or black rhodium-plated gold. The jewellery is handmade, and every detail and character of the leaves are preserved in the design. The designs are beautiful with a light expression and even though they are made of gold-plated leaves, none of the pieces are too fragile to be worn again and again. Each leaf has its own expression, just as a fingerprint is unique, the jewellery designs from PureLeaf are one of a kind.

About the Designer
PureLeaf does not only apply new, innovative ways when it comes to jewellery design, the company also has a strong focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. The inspiration for PureLeaf’s jewellery concept and innovative design process originates from a project in Brazil where local families are hired to collect and dry the fallen leaves of the forest. The leaves are first dried and then stiffened before being brushed with recycled gold. PureLeaf’s jewellery is made in Brazil according to sustainable principles and is produced with respect for nature, the environment, and the people who are part of the production. Since PureLeaf employs local farmers, the company contributes to an equalization of Brazil's income distribution and takes social responsibility in the milieu where it operates. The recycled gold used in the production is produced using solar energy and the entire production is certified by IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources). The brand thus combines aesthetic design with an ethical and sustainable approach to fashion.
