Marie Mas: Jewellery that moves

Marie Mas founded her own jewellery house - Marie Mas - in 2017, after graduating the prestigious École Duperré and the Institut Français de la Mode, and then spending years working at Christian Dior Couture under Raf Simons.
With Marie Mas she spent years developing a design language completely unique - including patented mechanisms that make the jewellery move with the wearer’s body. The name combines a tribute to her maternal grandmother, Henriette Mas, whose maiden name it carries, and the Balinese word for gold. Every piece is crafted in recycled 18k gold, hallmarked with the French Eagle Head certification.

Marie Mas Marie Mas

Marie Mas works in recycled 18k gold, set with Kimberley Process certified natural diamonds and genuine mineral gemstones,  from emeralds to amethysts,  many cut specifically for the brand's collections. The defining quality of every piece is movement: ingenious patented mechanisms that allow gemstones set back-to-back to turn over with the body's motion, revealing a new colour or pattern with every gesture.

The King Wave Ring features flexible diamond-studded pins that adjust to the shape of the wearer's finger, forming a new pattern with every movement. The Dancing Open Ring follows the hand and changes its look with a flick of the wrist. Collections combine ancestral goldsmithing knowledge with 3D printing technology, with every detail,  finish, mechanism, setting, meticulously considered.

Marie Cabirou has been obsessed with movement in jewellery since she first started designing. As a child she was always drawing; at school she studied at the intersection of art, design, and fashion; at Dior she designed pieces for the Couture shows that had to command a room. When she founded Marie Mas in 2017, the brief she set herself was clear: to build a brand entirely around the visual and physical experience of jewellery that comes alive. The name MAS honours her grandmother Henriette, who shaped her taste for creation - and carries the Balinese word for gold as a secondary layer of meaning. The brand's patented mechanisms are now its signature, and its position as the reference in moving jewellery is one it has built piece by carefully engineered piece.

Movement has been an obsession of mine ever since I started designing. A design has to surprise you, it has to look alive. A piece of jewelry is a success if you see stars in the eyes of the person who discovers it
Marie CabirouFounder & Designer

Marie Mas is an aesthete down to her fingertips. Her brand stands apart because more is always the answer — more diamonds, never fewer — and because her jewellery is never, under any circumstance, allowed to be boring. We visited Marie Mas in Paris, and exploring her collections feels like a never-ending story, in the best way. The pieces curve along the ear and earlobe, built and layered into entirely new shapes. She's known for 'dancing jewellery' — pieces that move and shift as they're worn, built on techniques as complicated as they are unique.

Every Marie Mas piece is crafted in recycled 18k gold and hallmarked with the French Eagle Head, the legal certification for 18k gold quality in France. Natural diamonds are Kimberley Process certified and sourced from suppliers committed to conflict-free and socially responsible practices. Gemstones are genuine mineral stones, most with cuts designed specifically for Marie Mas collections. Packaging is reusable — boxes designed to protect jewellery long-term, and tote bags made from GOTS certified organic cotton. The brand does not produce disposable collections, conceiving every piece as a creation intended to carry meaning and value across generations.
