Kay Bojesen is a Copenhagen design house with roots stretching back to 1907. Today the brand is led by Sus Bojesen Rosenqvist, Kay's youngest grandchild, who relaunched the silver archive in 2011 and continues to bring her grandfather's designs to life in updated materials and sizes.
In jewellery, Kay Bojesen takes its most beloved motifs — such as the monkey, the dachshund, the rabbit — and transforms them from objects of the home into adornments for the body. Shapes that have meant something to generations of Danish families, now worn close to the skin.

Kay Bojesen jewellery draws directly from the archive of a designer who created over 2,000 pieces across his lifetime — working in silver, steel, wood, bamboo, porcelain, and glass with equal mastery. The jewellery motifs are the brand's most iconic forms: the long-armed monkey created in 1951, the dachshund, the rabbit, and other creatures that have inhabited Danish homes for decades. Rendered in silver and steel with the same functional clarity and organic warmth that defined Kay Bojesen's original approach, they carry the hallmark of a designer who believed that beautiful things should first and foremost work — and that form, stripped of unnecessary decoration, is decoration enough.

Kay Bojesen was born in Copenhagen in 1886 and trained as a silversmith under Georg Jensen from 1907, before travelling through Germany and Paris to develop his craft further.

He returned to Copenhagen in 1913 to open his own workshop in Nybrogade — the basement space across from Thorvaldsens Museum that became the starting point for one of Denmark's most enduring design legacies. His Grand Prix cutlery, presented at the Milan Triennale in 1951, won the exhibition's highest prize and is now found in Danish embassy residences worldwide.

The iconic monkey, also from 1951, was created as a coat rack for a children's furniture exhibition and became a design icon within its first month, with 600 sold from Bojesen's own shop alone. Today, his youngest grandchild Sus Bojesen Rosenqvist leads the company, diving into the silver archive and introducing new pieces without compromising the original character of her grandfather's work.
