Where Craft Meets Intuition
Coralie Grzes is a jewellery designer that puts the handcraft of fine jewellery on the forefront.
Initially a student of industrial design, Coralie herself felt drawn to work that required her working more with her hands, and her deep interest in different kinds of materials led her to the world of artistic, fine jewellery. She subsequently went on to study fine jewellery at the Massana School in Barcelona, where she and her namesake brand are now based.
“What I like most about jewelry making is being able to both imagine a piece and shape it with my hands. It’s a craft that’s as rigorous as it is intuitive, where jewelry often takes shape by playing with metal.”, Coralie explains.
Stories Forged in Every Piece
Coralie is not just passionate about designing jewellery, but in telling stories through her pieces. She believes that the human behind a brand is what makes it unique, she explains. Each piece is made to order, and handmade in her Barcelona studio. The collections consist of a combination of delicate, subtle pieces and bold, statement creations.
Above all, Coralie loves the slow process of forging and craftsmanship, but she doesn’t hesitate to combine techniques in the development and design of her creations - she uses both modern technologies like 3D printing and ancestral techniques like sand casting.
“My typical customer is a woman who likes to have comfortable jewelry, jewellery that she can easily combine and wear with other pieces. She’s looking for quality, for durable pieces. My clients especially appreciate the timeless and ethical aspect of my creations.”
"I believe that all brands are different if there's a human behind them. In my case, each piece of jewelry is handmade, and each one tells a story." - Coralie Grzes Founder & Designer
Ethical Craft, Timeless Design
From the start, Coralie Grzes has been deeply committed to ethical and sustainable practices. Since 2017, the brand holds a Fairmined license, a label that certifies the origin of precious metals and the ethical practices employed in their extraction.
The pieces are exclusively crafted in high-quality 18K gold and silver, due to its durability and ability to be repaired and melted down. Finally, each piece is made to order - the brand holds no stock. Coralie doesn’t release multiple collections a year - new designs appear organically.
“I strongly believe in the timelessness of jewelry; I don't force myself to release collections every season, but generally new designs appear once or twice a year”, Coralie says.
