Maren Jewellery: With sustainability at the very heart of the design

Helge Maren Hauptmann founded Maren Jewellery after spending a decade working for some of Europe’s most significant jewellery companies - and when she did, she founded it around a single conviction: that luxury jewellery and genuine sustainability are not in conflict.
Based in Germany, Helge and her team has taken sustainability seriously from the very beginning, and every piece is crafted in recycled 18k gold and 925 sterling silver, set with lab-grown eco diamonds. Maren Jewellery is the first German jewellery company to hold B-Corporation certification, is certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council, and donates three percent of profits to the Earthbeat Foundation.

The opening edit

Helge, the designer behind Maren Jewellery, won us over the moment we met. Meticulous sustainability, and one of the first to offer lab-grown diamonds.

Maren Jewellery works exclusively in recycled 18k gold and recycled 925 sterling silver, set with lab-grown synthetic eco diamonds sourced from the USA with a climate-neutral footprint. The recycled gold is supplied by C.Hafner, a certified CO2-neutral refinery, making the raw material component of production an almost negligible part of the brand's carbon footprint.

The aesthetic is minimal and nature-led, the Wild Flowers Ring is the brand's signature piece, forged from recycled 18k gold and set with lab-grown diamonds, capturing what Helge describes as a raw beauty that looks casual without ever losing its impact. The Wilderness Jewellery Collection was awarded the German Design Award 2022 and named Best Fashion Product of a Start-up at the Green Product Awards 2022.

Helge Maren Hauptmann studied jewellery design in Pforzheim after early internships with goldsmiths, and spent ten years employed across some of the industry's most significant companies before founding Maren Jewellery with a clear purpose: to prove that it could be done differently. The brand is built around the We Mind Initiative: three pillars of mindfulness, sustainability, and responsibility, and structured around those values at every level, from material sourcing to packaging to supply chain transparency. No plastic is used in production. The brand's work is guided by the 17 goals of the United Nations. Since 2021, Maren Jewellery has been a certified B-Corporation, the first German jewellery company to achieve it, and since late 2022, it has also held RJC certification. It has been nominated for the German Sustainability Prize 2026.

I love dreamers. And somehow that's what I'm doing with Maren Jewellery: dreaming of dreamy jewelry in harmony with nature.

Helge, the German mind behind Maren Jewellery, was clear from the start: her sustainability goals, and her meticulous way of working with precious materials, were exactly what caught us when we met to see her collection. Her take on lab-grown diamonds — she was one of the first to offer them — felt genuinely new.
