A halo engagement ring is another classic design. A halo ring has a circle of smaller stones around a centre stone which may be round, cushion-cut or oval-cut.
In a halo design, the centre stone is the focus of the ring. The circle of smaller diamonds makes the centre stone look more prominent and adds to its sparkle. It is an excellent style when combining a diamond surrounded by emeralds, sapphires or rubies or a coloured gemstone with a circle of diamond accents.
Classic trinity rings
A trinity or trilogy ring is another example of a classic engagement ring. It features three diamonds of the same size and shape or different sizes and shapes. Such a ring could also have coloured gems or a combination of gemstones and diamonds.
Classic split shank ring
In a split-shank style engagement ring, the focus is on the band or shank of the ring, which is split into two stems, each curving up on either side of the centre stone and ending as four prongs that hold it in place. A classic split shank band may be highlighted where it splits with diamonds, as in a diamond-encrusted band or a pave band set with tiny diamonds.
Classic eternity band
Classic style eternity rings made of 14k and 18k gold and gold vermeil, set with diamonds or precious gemstones such as sapphires, rubies, emeralds, pearls, and amethysts by themselves or combined with diamonds. These precious gems, too, may be round or oval cut, princess cut, or emerald cut set on a pavé band.

Couples often choose a pair of matching wedding bands. The most classic wedding ring is a simple band made of silver, platinum, or ever-popular gold. You can opt for one in rhodium-plated sterling silver, vermeil, yellow gold, white gold, or rose gold band.
