Rooted in Diamonds, Driven by Meaning
Shirley Navone was born and raised in Antwerp, often called the city of diamonds, and she grew up in a family of diamond dealers - which gave her an intimate understanding of the material long before she founded her own brand.
Her upbringing planted a fascination with gemstones and jewellery, and this fascination would eventually lead to the founding SHIR, a brand built not on continuing a tradition but on re-imagining it entirely.
Where her family’s world was rooted in the trade of diamonds, Shirley’s world is rooted in what diamonds can say. Her inspiration comes from contrasts: tradition and modernity, texture and light, elegance and individuality.
Inside the SHIR Universe
Every SHIR piece is crafted in Antwerp, in 18k gold, with selected designs in 14k gold for pieces that require a more subtle tone or larger volume. Recycled gold is used as the primary material throughout, and most pieces are produced in small quantities, many made to order.
The collections cover significant ground: the Enchanted Rose explores the raw complexity beneath an over-familiar flower; L'Amour captures the multifaceted nature of love through engagement rings, toi et moi designs, and lock bracelets; the Gemstone Collection is built around stones Shirley selects personally, each chosen for its beauty and meaning, most pieces one-of-a-kind.
The Floating Collection is designed for layering, the Tennis collection takes a classic form and gives it a darker, more unexpected edge, and the Zodiac, Numbers and Letters collection offers personalised talismans built around individual story and identity.
"Dark, playful, moody, unexpected — SHIR moves between contrasts, finding beauty in the in-between"
Why SHIR Fine Jewelry
Shirley’s background and family heritage of diamond trading gives the brand a depth many brands lack - but she also brings that tradition into a new era. All pieces are designed to be worn and stacked together or make a statement on their own: it’s not merely jewellery, but jewellery as a tool for self-expression.
The defining aesthetic of SHIR of dark, moody and mysterious - but also playful and unexpected. SHIR’s pieces are crafted carefully and consciously, valuing and appreciating the earth’s precious resources. Therefore, most SHIR pieces are made in small quantities and often made to order. That combination, heritage and rebellion held together in recycled gold and carefully chosen stones, is why SHIR Fine Jewelry belongs on The Jewellery Room.
