About MYSTERYJOY
MYSTERYJOY is a fine jewellery brand built around what is hidden. Founded by Joy Toledano and based in Paris, it began not with a business plan but with an instinct — a need to give form to the things people carry privately: mystery, intuition, inner strength, darkness and light at once. Joy grew up playing with her grandmother's jewellery, layering necklaces, mixing earrings, learning early that adornment was a language. That language never left her.
Her path into the industry was deliberate. After studying marketing and communication in Paris and London, she joined fine jewellery house Elise Dray, learning the craft from the inside — creation, stones, distribution, press, and making. She then trained in gemology in Paris and Antwerp, specialising in cut diamonds. "That deep understanding of the material changed everything," she explains. "Jewelry stopped being an abstract object and became something lived, emotional, and deeply symbolic." MYSTERYJOY took shape from that understanding.
Design & Philosophy
MYSTERYJOY works exclusively with lab-grown diamonds — a position Joy holds not as a compromise, but as a conviction. "They represent a form of modern alchemy," she says, "where science meets magic." The brand adopts an ethical and sustainable approach throughout its creative process, with consistent awareness of environmental impact. Pieces are produced in small quantities in Paris, in solid gold, with a strong emphasis on longevity and craft.
Collections are conceived as chapters of a book, with a new main chapter arriving roughly once a year when the narrative feels complete, supplemented by intimate capsule drops — like La Rose Noire — that explore a single symbol or emotion in depth. The design vocabulary is consistent and specific: keys, locks, cards, checkerboards, numbers, astrology, esoteric references. Black and white contrasts, clean lines, and an unexpected depth beneath a fine jewellery surface. Joy's own daily companions are the Mini Hasard ring — "subtle yet symbolic, like a quiet companion" — and the Fairy rings, which she layers and repositions depending on her mood.

Where Meaning Finds Its Wearer
MYSTERYJOY customers are self-selecting in the most genuine sense. "People don't choose MYSTERYJOY randomly," Joy says. "They recognise themselves in it." When they do, they come back — one piece calls for another, and the brand becomes, in her words, an intimate language. It is jewellery for a woman who loves the classics but needs something that breaks the rules. Who chooses a piece not just for how it looks, but for what it carries.
That is why MYSTERYJOY belongs on The Jewellery Room. In a market where symbolism is frequently borrowed as an aesthetic, Joy has built a brand where it is the foundation. Each piece is a talisman — and the boutique Joy has opened in the heart of Paris gives that world a physical home, a space where the atmosphere and the symbols can be experienced in full.
