Simone Ashley Chose Kinraden for the Devil Wears Prada 2 Press Tour. Here's Why It Makes Sense:

Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally in theatres - and before a single frame has been seen, the press tour has already delivered one of the most interesting jewellery moments of the year.

The Moment: A BBC One Show Look Worth Paying Attention To

When Devil Wears Prada 2 was announced in 2025, the casting of Simone Ashley as the new fashion assistant to Miranda Priestly sent fashion lovers into a quiet frenzy. The British actress, best known for her roles in Netflix's Bridgerton and Sex Education, brought exactly the kind of considered, quietly magnetic presence the role demanded. The anticipation has been building ever since.

On 24th April 2026, Simone Ashley appeared on BBC One's The One Show alongside the rest of the cast - Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, and Stanley Tucci. And while the fashion world was paying close attention to every styling choice, it was her earrings that caught our eye - as Simone  was wearing the Doric Small Earrings from Kinraden!

In a room containing one of the most anticipated film casts in recent memory, Simone Ashley chose Copenhagen minimalism, and that is a choice we applaud!

Why It Makes Sense: The Logic of the Kinraden Choice

Kinraden is a Copenhagen-based jewellery brand built on one of the most disciplined design constraints in contemporary fine jewellery: three materials only. Solid 18k gold, sterling silver, and mpingo wood - a sustainably sourced African blackwood that is almost entirely black. Every piece Kinraden has ever made exists within those three materials - the constraint is the entire process.

The brand's name comes from "kinship", the belief that we are all connected, and philosophy runs through everything: the material choices, the restrained silhouettes, and the refusal to add anything that isn't necessary. Florence Pugh has worn Kinraden, and so has Saoirse Ronan - the brand has a particular pull for women who think carefully about what they put on their bodies and why.

The Doric Small Earrings sit within the Stilos Collection - Kinraden's collaboration with Mark Kenly Domino Tan, one of Denmark's most respected creative voices. The piece is handmade in pure, recycled sterling silver and is the smaller earring in the collection - which also includes larger versions and a mini version in silver, solid gold or mpingo wood.

Kinraden doesn't compete for attention, it earns through precision. An actress playing a fashion assistant to Miranda Priestly - a character whose entire world is built on the idea that what you wear communicates who you are - wearing a piece that embodies exactly that philosophy is not a coincidence. It is, in the language of the film itself, a very deliberate choice.

Kinraden 18k Gold: The warmth of solid gold within Kinraden's signature restraint. For those who want the brand's precision in the most precious of their three materials. Explore Kinraden

How to Wear the Mini Doric

The Doric works precisely because it doesn't demand a particular context. Simone Ashley wore it on one of the most high-profile press appearances of the year — but it is equally at home worn daily, against skin, as part of a composed ear stack or entirely alone.

Wear it alone. The Mini Doric on a bare ear is a complete statement. The restraint is the point — it communicates that you chose this specific thing, and that you needed nothing else.

Layer it. Sterling silver pairs naturally with both gold and wood tones. The Mini Doric alongside a plain gold hoop, or one of Kinraden's mpingo wood pieces on the other ear, builds a composition that feels personal rather than matchy.

Wear it always. Kinraden's recycled sterling silver is designed for longevity and daily wear. The Mini Doric is not a piece to save. It is a piece to put on and not take off.

"An actress playing the most fashion-conscious role of the year chose the most restrained earring in the room. In the language of Devil Wears Prada, that's the whole point."

Devil Wears Prada 2 is in theatres now — and if the press tour is any indication, the jewellery moments from this film are going to be worth watching closely. One thing is certain: Simone Ashley's choice of Kinraden on that BBC One sofa has already made the Doric Earring the most talked-about sterling silver piece of the spring. We cannot wait to see what comes next.
