This bangle, designed by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe in 1968, features a unique clasp: a curved hook at one end and a loop at the other, which meet in a natural movement. It reflects not only the designer’s inspiration for the piece – that two halves are stronger together – but also the principles of functionalism, where every element serves a purpose. Torun was a pioneering Swedish silversmith, and she was the first woman in her field to gain international recognition. She became one of Georg Jensen’s key collaborators and created some of the design house’s most popular pieces of jewelry – including this bangle. A hallmark of her work was making the clasp an important design element, of which the Torun bangle is a beautiful example. This version of the bangle features a band of champagne-coloured diamonds as a subtle and unique detail. As the piece contains natural gemstones, there may be slight variations in colour.
