LIL Milan: For women, by women

Founder Veronica Varetta didn’t start in the jewelry industry, but with a degree in economics that she found “deeply uninspiring”. In 2014, she found a goldsmith in Brera, one of Milan’s most storied neighbourhoods, and she designed her first piece - and from there, LIL Milan was born.
A decade later, LIL Milan is handmade in Italy, introduced lab-grown diamonds across the collection, and donates ten percent of proceeds from select pieces to women's charities. The brand has a physical home — LIL House in Milan — and a community that shapes what gets made next.

LIL Milan LIL Milan

The opening edit

Veronica's LIL Milan pieces twist and turn in ways you don't expect. Cute, wearable, and exactly the unexpected we look for in our Room.

LIL Milan works in solid gold and silver, with lab-grown diamonds being introduced across the collection. The aesthetic moves between the essential and the show-stopping: minimal rings like Nude and Giotto alongside statement necklaces like Icy and Portami a Ballare. New materials are explored through capsule drops — the Aura Pop capsule introduced marble, ebony, and mother of pearl for the first time. Veronica sketches on the couch with her daughter, drawing inspiration from interior design before bringing ideas to her goldsmith. New designs arrive every three to four months, with no fixed rules around release — driven by inspiration and the ongoing conversation between maker and community.

Veronica Varetta founded LIL Milan in 2014 while studying Economics at university - not because she had a jewelry background, but because she needed a project that actually interested her. The business plan she wrote for herself became a real business, and the goldsmith she found in Brera became the start of a design practice that has only deepened since. LIL Milan has always been as much about community as craft: customer feedback is taken seriously, the exchange between brand and buyer is ongoing, and the values of sisterhood and solidarity show up in the work itself. Ten percent of proceeds from the Boobs and Viola pieces go to Cerchi d'Acqua, an anti-violence centre supporting abused women, and DonnexStrada, which supports women who feel they are in danger. The brand also restored a basketball court in Milan with its own hands as part of a neighbourhood revitalisation project.

LIL Milan is a brand by women, and for women
Veronica VarettaDesigner & Founder

Veronica, the maker behind LIL Milan, creates pieces you would never quite expect — twisting and turning in unexpected ways, always cute, always wearable. She works across different carats of gold, from 9k to 18k, depending on the piece. Her new OURA cover rings, in gold and diamonds, are exactly the kind of unexpected we look for.

LIL Milan ships all Milan orders via UBM, a bike courier company, reducing CO₂ emissions at the point of delivery. Lab-grown diamonds are being introduced across the collection, chosen for their significantly lower environmental impact compared to mined alternatives. Ten percent of proceeds from the Boobs and Viola pieces are donated to Cerchi d'Acqua and DonnexStrada — two Italian non-profits supporting women affected by violence and danger. Packaging choices and production practices are guided by the same commitment to responsibility that runs through the brand's social work.
