The brand story

Pierre-Paul Vever founded the Maison in Metz in 1821. His son Ernest moved it to Paris, to the rue de la Paix, in 1872. Ernest's sons Paul and Henri took it to its greatest period of prominence, winning Grand Prix awards at successive World Fairs and counting Tsar Alexander III, the Shah of Persia, and the Japanese Prime Minister among their clients. Henri was also a historian and the author of the key reference work on 19th-century French jewelry. The Maison closed in 1982. Camille Vever has spoken of being given a Vever piece by her grandmother at sixteen, and of holding onto the idea of a revival quietly from that moment. When she and her twin brother Damien relaunched the house in 2021, they did so with a specific legal commitment: Vever became the first mission-driven company in the French luxury sector, with its responsibilities to people and environment written into its articles of association.

A house of craft

Maison Vever was founded in Metz in 1821 and spent over a century on rue de la Paix, Paris, where it became one of the defining names of the Art Nouveau movement, winning five Grand Prix at the World Fairs between 1889 and 1925. It closed in 1982. Nearly four decades later, Camille and Damien Vever, the seventh generation of the founding family, relaunched the Maison with a clear idea of what it should become: a house rooted in its own extraordinary archives, shaped by a commitment to responsible production, and making jewelry in France with the country's finest craftspeople.

The design DNA

Signature style

Creative Director Sandrine de Laage works directly from Vever's 19th-century archives, reinterpreting the Maison's Art Nouveau references through a contemporary lens rather than reproducing them. The results are naturalistic in feeling but precise in construction: organic forms rendered in satin-finished recycled gold, with hand-engraved surface detail that gives each piece a tactile specificity no machine finish can replicate. The Ginkgo collection is the clearest example — its leaf-form pendant draws on the Maison's botanical heritage while the Ginkgo flower it depicts does not exist in nature. Every piece is worked entirely in France, using recycled gold and natural recycled diamonds, by craftspeople selected for technical knowledge rarely found outside the historic French jewelry trade.
