About Ole Lynggaard

Our relationship with Ole Lynggaard runs deeper than most. I worked as the Global PR Manager before TJR. I’ve experienced their craft up close, and it’s sublime.

A unique approach

The brand story

Ole Lynggaard was born in 1936 into a family with jewelry in its bones - his parents owned two jewelry shops. He completed his goldsmith's apprenticeship at 17, earned his journeyman's certificate with a silver medal in 1957, and then left Denmark with a kit bag over his shoulder and five years of travel ahead of him. He studied in Schwäbisch Gmünd, absorbed the finest Parisian jewelry workshops, experienced Fifth Avenue from the inside, and continued through Japan, Shanghai, the Philippines, Thailand, India, Iran, Jordan, Jerusalem, and Cairo before returning to Copenhagen in 1963 to found his house.

His daughter Charlotte Lynggaard joined the business officially in 1994, launching her first collection, Blomsten & Bien, after training as a goldsmith and spending time at a Paris advertising agency learning luxury brand building. Sofia Lynggaard Normann became part of the business in 2018 and launched her first jewelry collections in 2024. The house has been a Royal Warrant Holder for decades, and partners with charity: water to bring clean drinking water to communities in Africa.

The founders

A house of craft

Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen is a Danish jewelry institution unlike any other. Founded in 1963 by its namesake goldsmith and designer, Ole Lynggaard’s nature-inspired designs have defined a distinctive strand of Danish jewelry craftsmanship for over six decades.
Based north of Copenhagen, on the same street where Ole rented his first workshop, the house is now a three generation family business: Ole's daughter Charlotte Lynggaard serves as designer and creative director and his son Søren Lynggaard as managing director, while his granddaughter Sofia Lynggaard Normann joined in 2024 and has been designing her own collections ever since. Every piece is handcrafted in 18k gold or sterling silver, with diamonds graded to a minimum of G/SI1 and most in the excellent or very good categories on GIA's cut scale.

The design DNA

Our relationship with Ole Lynggaard runs deeper than most. I worked as the Global PR Manager before TJR. I’ve experienced their craft up close, and it’s sublime.

Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen works exclusively in 18k gold and sterling silver, set with brilliant-cut diamonds graded to the highest quality standards and a palette of rare, carefully selected coloured gemstones, sourced from caves, mountains, and deep-blue seas around the world. Each stone is unique in character, making every piece that carries it entirely its own. Surface finishes are chosen with the same deliberateness as the stones themselves: satin, brushed, hammered, or polished.

Ole Lynggaard's iconic animal jewelry, such as the Elephant collection, and sculptural trophy pieces are among the most sought-after in the collection, alongside Charlotte Lynggaard's colourful, gemstone-rich designs with detachable elements that allow a single piece to transform. Sofia Lynggaard Normann's debut collections - Young Fish and Under the Sea, inspired by her diving experiences off the Australian coast, and Bird Family, a charm and pendant collection inspired by birds as symbols of courage, freedom, and connection - represent the third generation's vision taking shape - still with the visual DNA intact.
