Ein einzigartiger Ansatz
Die Geschichte der Marke
Heribert Engelbert founded his jewellery company in Stockholm in 1920, having begun his career as a salesman at Swedish jewellery firm Dahlgren & Co. His son Stig took over and founded the Stigbert studio in the late 1940s, pioneering a new era of Swedish art jewellery. When Stig died suddenly in 1962, his sons Lars and Peter — both trained goldsmiths with gemology studies in London — took the helm. Lars went to New York in 1965 to work for the prestigious Mario Buccellati; Peter followed, and together they opened their own office on Fifth Avenue in 1966. After five successful years in the American and European markets, the brothers returned to Sweden and refocused on the domestic market — establishing the brand's reputation for exclusive wedding and engagement jewellery that has defined it ever since. Oscar Engelbert, the fourth generation, opened the brand's flagship store in Stockholm in 2013, designed by Christian Halleröd with bubinga wood panels, oxidised brass details, and furniture by Pierre Jeanneret and Jean Prouvé.
