Lenka Kerlicka: Hundred of years of design heritage brought to life

Lenka Kerlicka is a Prague-based fine jewellery brand founded by its namesake designer, whose path to goldsmithing reads like a story written in retrospect. Lenka studied pedagogy at Charles University before following a deep passion for creative work with glass and metal into formal goldsmithing training, only to discover, after making that leap, that she was a descendant of the Kerlitzky family, one of Prague's most significant goldsmithing dynasties, with roots stretching back to the 1790s.
Every piece is handmade in the brand's Prague atelier on Újezd in the heart of Malá Strana, in 18k gold and platinum with high-quality gemstones.

Lenka Kerlicka works primarily in 18k gold and platinum, set with high-quality gemstones sourced from reliable suppliers. Every piece carries Lenka's own unique maker's mark and is verified by the Czech State Assay Office, a legal guarantee of material quality. The aesthetic is characterised by bold, elegant forms inspired by organic lines: fluid, distinctive, and immediately recognisable as her own.

The brand also encompasses 27JEWELRY, Lenka's handcrafted engagement and wedding ring line, known for its delicate, irregular, and rippled forms that can be precisely paired, comfortably worn daily, and personalised with fingerprint impressions.

Lenka Kerlicka trained as a teacher at Charles University, where she developed patience, the ability to listen, and skill in guiding others, before realising she needed creative self-expression to move forward. She left her teaching career to pursue goldsmithing, enrolling in formal training and following what felt like a personal calling.

It was only after making that decision that she discovered the full weight of what she had stepped into: a family goldsmithing tradition stretching back to 1790, with at least 30 master goldsmiths across the generations of the Kerlitzky family. Today her Prague atelier on Újezd combines a working goldsmith's workshop and showroom under one roof, an ideal space, she says, for preserving craft tradition while continuing to develop and innovate.
