Mesmerising diamond engagement rings
Let's face it. Diamonds are valuable, and diamond rings exude pure luxury. No wonder lovers worldwide prefer to seal their promise of enduring love with a dazzling diamond engagement ring. Designer diamond engagement rings are not only exclusive but also exquisitely handcrafted. Owning a designer diamond engagement ring will be a delightful portal into the world of everyday luxury for your lady love.
Choosing your diamond engagement ring
With infinite choices available, the basic principle is simple—just go for the diamond ring design you love in a valuable, long-lasting material that matches your budget.
Find your perfect diamond ring size.
Choose an authentic diamond ring
Authentic diamond rings always come with grading certificates because mined and lab-grown diamonds used in rings are graded and certified by institutions such as the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA). These certificates may verify
♦ The 4 Cs—cut, colour, clarity and carat—of the diamonds used in the ring
♦ Diamond sourcing: whether the diamond(s) in the ring are conflict-free, traceable, sustainable or ethically produced.
Diamond colour and clarity grading facts
When you buy your diamond engagement ring, you should know that the pricing depends not only on the diamond size or weight (carat) but also on its colour and clarity grading.
♦ For diamonds, colourless or white and flawless (clarity) is the best and most expensive.
♦ Most diamond grading uses the GIA scale D through Z to grade diamond colour, where D-F diamonds are more expensive than M-Z diamonds.
♦ Clarity grading indicates the presence/absence of inclusions in a gemstone. The GIA scale uses FL (flawless) through VS (very slight) and I (included) to indicate the clarity of diamonds.
GIA scale for diamond grading explained
|G-L||Near colourless||VS / VVS||Very or very very slight inclusions visible under 10x magnification|
|M-Z||Traces of colour||I||Obviously included|
If the description says the ring has a G VS1 diamond, it indicates this: G means that the diamond is near-colourless with very slight inclusions (VS1) visible under 10x magnification.
Choosing valuable yet affordable diamond rings
Although diamonds are expensive, more and more ring designers want to make this mesmerising gemstone available to everyone. So they work with lower carat and clarity, included diamonds lab-grown diamonds too, which are less expensive, more earth-loving, and just as brilliant to craft beautiful engagement rings that delight and match every budget.
Choosing diamond and gold rings
A precious diamond deserves a precious metal setting. That’s why diamonds set in solid gold are the perfect match. Gold and diamond engagement rings make valuable heirloom rings too! You can choose a diamond engagement ring in 9 karats to 18 karat yellow, rose or white gold.
However, you should note that
♦ Top-colour white diamonds (colourless/near colourless) are best displayed when set in 18k white gold. Otherwise, the reflections of yellow or rose gold can make the diamond appear less brilliant.
♦ If you prefer yellow or rose gold rings, opt for prong settings in white gold for white diamonds or beautifully hued chocolate cognac or pale-brown champagne diamonds.
Designer diamond rings for women
The variety of cuts and settings available for diamonds allows every engagement ring to be a personal expression. The central diamond is often flanked by smaller diamonds for exceptional sparkle and an enhanced appearance. The diamond in the centre could be encircled or flanked by coloured gemstones/birthstones for personalisation.
The solitaire diamond engagement ring
Solitaire diamond rings in a classic prong setting are still the bestselling engagement rings. Brilliant-cut diamonds have the most facets (58), allowing maximum light to pass through the diamond creating unmatched brilliance. Engagement rings are also set with solitaires in popular cuts such as the classic cushion, princess, oval and, more recently, the teardrop-shaped pear-cut.
Designers of bespoke jewellery list engagement rings with big diamonds of 1, 2 or 3 carats as their number one request in 2022, followed by alternative settings and unique shapes. Diamond solitaire ring designs with smaller diamonds of 0.01ct. to 0.5ct. set on slim gold bands are also hot favourites among affordable diamond engagement ring styles.
Unique diamond engagement rings
Diamond line rings or eternity bands are also engagement ring favourites; these styles are excellent when worn next to wedding bands. Diamonds set flush in plain or textured gold bands, spiral rings paved with brilliants, and a coloured gemstone flanked or surrounded by smaller diamonds are simply exquisite!
Our diamond engagement ring collections are brimming with rings that check off all of the above features in unique designs that will leave you as breathlessly smitten as we have been!
