Lark & Berry: Lab-grown diamond pioneer

When Laura Chavez discovered labgrown diamonds, everything changed for her. While studying in London, she immediately understood what they could mean for the jewellery industry. In 2018, she made a decision that placed her ahead of the entire market: to use exclusively lab-grown diamonds and stones across every piece - and Lark & Berry was the first designer fine jewellery brand in the world to do so.
The brand has since been worn on some of the world's biggest red carpets and counts a growing global following among buyers who want fine jewellery without ethical compromise.

Lark & Berry Lark & Berry

Lark & Berry works in recycled gold, set exclusively with lab-grown diamonds and stones — grown using renewable energy, chemically and physically identical to mined diamonds, and fully conflict-free. The aesthetic takes classic fine jewellery forms — tennis necklaces, engagement rings, statement pieces — and gives each a modern, fashion-forward edge. Stone cuts are innovative, settings are meticulously crafted, and the overall sensibility is one of contemporary luxury: elegant without being conservative, relevant without being trend-dependent. The bespoke offering sits alongside the core collection, allowing clients to commission pieces as personal and considered as any other in the range.

Laura Chavez grew up in the 1980s and came to fine jewellery from a background in business rather than design - which may be exactly why she was able to see an opportunity that the established industry had missed. When she discovered lab-grown diamonds in London, she recognised immediately that they offered everything mined diamonds did, without the environmental destruction and ethical uncertainty. In 2018, she founded Lark & Berry and committed entirely to lab-grown stones — a position that drew pushback from established industry names at the time, and that has since been vindicated as the category has moved into the mainstream. The brand's founding conviction has never shifted: that fine jewellery should be breathtakingly beautiful and unimpeachably responsible, and that these are not competing demands.

I discovered lab-grown diamonds and was blown away - these diamonds are identical to mined ones, just made in a way that doesn't harm the planet

When Lark & Berry found us, I understood their stackable, cool universe instantly. We met, and it was obvious the match worked — their hoops and ear candy, in particular, have become favourites of mine and our customers alike.

Every Lark & Berry piece is set with lab-grown diamonds and stones, grown in laboratories using renewable energy. Recycled gold is used throughout, and the brand works exclusively with suppliers committed to sustainable production practices. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds — conflict-free, traceable, and produced without the land destruction associated with conventional mining. For Lark & Berry, this is not a sustainability add-on but the founding logic of the entire brand.
