Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week might be a little while back, but diamonds are forever and these dazzling pieces certainly still deserve attention.
During Paris Haute Couture Week, De Beers launched the latest high jewellery collection inspired by the serene beauty of the lotus flower.
The Lotus by De Beers High Jewellery Collection captures the extraordinary lifecycle of this symbolic bloom in pristine diamond form. Each of the five stages in its journey towards the sunlight are brought to life in beautiful designs named Awakening, Blooming, Flourishing, Radiating and Soothing Lotus.
Each tells a story through an evacuate blend of princess, pear, baguettes, marquise, oval and round brilliant diamonds. Each rough diamond is artfully placed among polished diamonds to recreate the hues of water or the vision of hundreds of lily pads on the surface of a pond.
Part of the highlight during the Haute Couture Presentation was to showcase a 296 carat rough yellow diamond. It is a rare treasure. If this rough diamond is to be polished, normally half of it has to be taken away depending on its natural size and shape, but that would still be a yellow diamond of around 120 carat, now imagine...
